I am pleased to serve as the President of the Southern California Alumni Chapter. While in office, my goal is to improve our infrastructure, strengthen our FAMUly ties, expand our membership, and increase student recruitment and scholarship funding. By engaging with technology and the talented and capable local alumni, I aim to position the chapter to be successful today and beyond.

History
The Southern California Alumni Chapter, formerly known as the Los Angeles Alumni Chapter of the Florida A&M University National Alumni Association, was first chartered in Los Angeles, California, in the early to middle 1950s. From its inception, the chapter has continued to fulfill its principal mission to collect and generate funds to support the University and its students while upholding the legacy of "Excellence with Caring" throughout Southern California. The success and accomplishments of this Chapter are manifestations of the countless hours dedicated by its leadership and members to meet not only the ever-changing needs of the University but also the needs of the surrounding community.
Mission
The mission of the Southern California Chapter of the Florida A&M University National Alumni Association is to enhance and support the continued existence of Florida A&M University. Our commitment is to raise and give funds to the University that will support its programs; recruit and retain students who will attend the University; engage with local alumni who will support the University and its goals through membership in the chapter; doing those things that perpetuate a positive image of the chapter and the University; and influencing community and governmental activities that will support the University’s priorities.
Objectives
To execute our mission, the Chapter will engage in the following:
FUNDRAISING
Raise funds in support of the University and Chapter programming.
RECRUITMENT
Cultivate relationships with prospective students, parents and FAMU Alumni to encourage interest in attendance and support of FAMU.
SCHOLaRSHIPS
Create and lead various initiatives and activities to raise funds for scholarships for prospective and continuing Southern California FAMU students.
MEMBERSHIP
Recruit alumni in support of the University through membership in the chapter and/or donation of financial resources and time.
ENGAGEMENT
Keeps local alumni informed of issues that could impact the viability and growth of Florida A&M University. As well as, creating a network of support and executing events that provide interpersonal connections and a sense of FAMUly in Southern California.
IMAGE BUILDING
Annually participate in community service or social activities that bring positive visibility to Florida A&M University in Southern California.
